SpeechGATE, developed by AudioScribe, is a program that interfaces with Total Eclipse and enables you to utilize speech recognition with Eclipse. The SpeechGATE program is capable of interfacing with current versions of both Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional and IBM Via Voice USB Pro edition.

What will SpeechGATE do for you?

The SpeechGATE program will enable you to utilize speech recognition with your Total Eclipse system. Total Eclipse tracks “voisteno” in much the same way as it tracks regular steno so your familiar screens and functions will remain virtually unchanged.

What do you need to purchase in order to utilize SpeechGATE?

In order to utilize SpeechGATE, you will need to purchase the SpeechGATE program, as well as all speech-related hardware and software. The purchase of the SpeechGATE module includes a SpeechGATE CD and corresponding manual, as well as support for SpeechGATE and support for the speech recognition engine of your choice. You will also need to purchase a speech recognition engine, either the most current version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional or IBM Via Voice USB Pro Edition. Additional items that will need to be purchased include a USB speech processor and a speech input device, which in this case may either be a USB headset microphone, or a USB speech processor along with a speech silencer mini-mask. How will you obtain support for SpeechGATE?

If you encounter a problem with your system while utilizing the speech recognition module, your support staff at Eclipse will help you determine whether or not the problem is related to your SpeechGATE interface. If it is determined that you need the AudioScribe support staff, you will be referred to our dedicated technicians who will assist you with your interface. Our support staff is available for you from 8AM-5PM Central Standard time, Monday-Friday. In addition to phone assistance, we provide free email support throughout the life of the product and a SpeechGATE forum, which can be conveniently accessed through our web site 24 hours a day to help meet the needs of our SpeechGATE users. This special forum area for SpeechGATE users facilitates communication with other SpeechGATE users and with the AudioScribe technical support team.

Is training included with the purchase of SpeechGATE?

Training can be scheduled via the AudioScribe educational department specifically for you to learn SpeechGATE. Focused training on the speech recognition engine for court reporting can be scheduled with an AudioScribe certified trainer at a per diem plus travel expenses rate.
